Coastal Colorshift Basecoat
is a very vibrant white particle colorshift that shifts between green/blue/gold/brown/rose. This color is great for full coverage color change applications (over black) or as effect ver other colors like red green, or blue.
All of our Alpha Custom Color Basecoats are bound in a specifically formulated binder that has pigment control (to avoid striping or mottling), great UV Resistance, crystal clear, and great pearl suspension.

This color is also available in aerosol spray cans, dry pearl pigment, vehicle paint kits, painted samples, and more!

EFFECT OPTIONS:
1) Subtle: Best for slight effect that will provide a sparkle and slight pop of color to your base color or substrate. Best over basecoats other than black or white.
2) Medium: Best over base colors (other than black or white) that you want more pop of color and sparkle.
3)Heavy: This gives full coverage over blackThis gives the most pop of color and sparkle and will take over your base color.
Type of paint:   3-4 color shift pearl paint basecoat

 Micron Size:  30-120μm
 Mixing Ratio: Mix Ratio: 1:1:5% (Basecoat:HR13xx: HH57)

 Coverage : Good
Basecoat Recommendation : Black Sealer for full coverage or other colors (minus white) for effect when used in subtle form.

We highly recommend using the HR13xx reducer & HH57 hardener. Other high end reducer & hardeners may work as well, though have not been tested.

Hardener is optional in our basecoat but highly recommended as it makes the basecoat even more durable, lay even flatter off the gun, and overall a better finish. For optimum durability and adhesion, our basecoats should be mixed 1:1 with HR13XX Reducer and 5% HH57 Basecoat hardener. Mixing Example: 10oz basecoat , 10oz hr13xx, 1oz hh57. Keep in mind, if you add hardener to the basecoat, it will catalyze and not be able to be put back in the can and stored.

Colors may vary depending on computer and mobile screen color settings. In order to ensure that the color meets your expectations, we highly recommend purchasing a sample size first.

This is an Acrylic Urethane Basecoat.
Yes, this is a basecoat paint which needs a high quality clearcoat sprayed over top of it for durability and shine. We recommend HC-4100 or any of the other Tamco Clearcoats on our website.
Yes - our paints work great on calipers, engine blocks, and valve covers!
You have an 8hr recoat window. If its over 8hrs - scuff with a gray scuff pad , spray another coat of base, then continue as normal with the project.
We would recommend you either adding Diamond pearls into the base coat or ideally spray our Diamond pearl midcoats over top. Over top will give you the most effect while also not changing the color as much as mixing it. Also mixing it in you will need quite a bit of pearl to be able to see it.
Flows out of a .5 or larger. Any smaller it MIGHT have to be further reduced
